Yawunik Kootenayi, Four Eyed, Six Clawed Creature Goes Viral 500b Years After Decimation
University of Toronto have come out with fossils of an amazing and yet-unknown species of animals. They claim that the it is actually an ancient lobster that had four eyes.
Paleontologists of the University claim that the animal actually lived hundreds of millions of years ago. They are actually of the view that the lobster like creature even roamed scot-free across the earth much before the arrival of the dinosaurs.
The animal that the paleontologists are calling Yawunik kootenayi was found hidden at the Marble Canyon site of the Burgess Shale fossil deposit in Canada. Fossils of a large number of very different looking animals have been discovered from the site.
It is needless to say that researchers are extremely excited about the latest finding. While talking about the finding Cedric Aria, a PhD candidate in the University of Toronto, said, “It has the signature features of an arthropod with its external skeleton, segmented body and jointed appendages, but lacks certain advanced traits present in groups that survived until the present day.â€
Researchers who analyzed the fossils minutely have concluded that the new species lived as many as 508 million years ago, more than 250 million years before the dinosaurs appeared on Earth. Though it is questionable as to how they can precisely conclude the era they lived in, these fossils must be pretty old. Scientists claim that the Yawunik kootenayi had two sets of eyes and grasping appendages like the ones that are found in modern shrimps and beetles.
