Windows Phone 8 comes to more handsets. Besides the Nokia Lumia and HTC phones, more tech makers are to join the party. Huawei is all set to reveal its Ascend W1 Windows Phone 8 handset at CES 2013. ZTE may also enter to the market with a nice phone sooner. In spite of this fresh line of affordable devices, there is a grape that Windows Phone 8 lacks enough apps. Sure, compared with Android and iOS stores, Windows Store falls short in the count of apps.

Microsoft, however, is working vigorously to get more apps for its mobile phone ecosystem. The company launched its new Windows Store with over 10,000 quality apps. It has struck deals with app developers to get many quality apps produced in coming months. By December 2012, the count of apps in the app store has expanded up to 35,000. Skype: Microsoft-owned VoIP service provider Skype has launched a new and revamped app for Windows Phone 8. It comes with all bugs and flaws fixed, Skype says. The update is mainly meant for “improving reliability and performance of the application, especially around background notifications and calling,” Skype says on its official blog.
