Women’s polytechnic organizes Personality Development workshop

Aligarh, September 22: The Training and Placement Cell of Women’s Polytechnic, Aligarh Muslim University recently organized a workshop on Personality Development.

Welcoming the guests, Dr Salma Shaheen, Principal, University Women’s Polytechnic talked about the importance of Personality Development in the present scenario. She also talked about the relevance of the workshop’s theme for Diploma and Advance Diploma courses.

Dr Shaheen further said that the development of individual personality mainly depends on the environment and the ability to emulate good personalities.

“There are no shortcuts to success and this in a nutshell is the message of this workshop,” said Dr Shaheen.

She praised the efforts of Training and Placement Cell, University Women’s Polytechnic for organizing such motivational programmes and suggested to organize a series of workshops on monthly basis for an in depth coverage of the skills pertaining to personality development.

Main speaker at the event, Dr Akbar Joseph A Syed, Assistant Professor, Department of English meticulously talked about each aspect of Personality Development.

Explaining the students the scope and importance of Personality Development in career building, Dr Syed explained that certification, familiarity, communication, knowledge acquisition and individual’s psychology with other factors play important role in shaping a pleasant personality.

Dr Syed further cited analogies and quoted couplets from the poems of legendary poets like Allama Iqbal and Kaalidas.

Quoting Iqbal’s “Parwaz Hai Dono Ki Issi Aik Faza Mein, Kargas Ka Jahan Aur Hai, Shaheen Ka Jahan Aur (The vulture and the eagle fly in the same sky, but both have different ways of living),” Dr Syed urged students to take their flights and life in the right direction while developing their personalities.

During the event, students particularly enjoyed Dr Syed’s address and applauded him by giving a standing ovation.

A large number of teachers from University Women’s Polytechnic and more than hundred students attended the workshop.

Mr Tariq Ahmed, Assistant Professor and TPC, University Women’s Polytechnic conducted the workshop and Mr Jahangir Alam, Associate Professor and TPO University Women’s Polytechnic proposed vote of thanks.
