Windows 10 Mobile release date delay confusing: Microsoft’s Lumia 640, 735, 830, 930 etc users waiting
Windows smartphone users across the world are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Windows 10 Mobile update on their smartphones. They were hoping that the new OS will arrive on their handsets in December, but despite the fact that several weeks have passed, the update is yet to arrive.
While the Redmond based tech giant is working hard to put its newest operating system Windows 10 on every laptop and personal computer, the company doesn’t seem to be equally enthusiastic when it comes to its mobile version.
This has disappointed the people who have been using Microsoft smartphones across the world. While Windows smartphones makes only 3 percent of the total smartphone market, when it comes to numbers they still seem substantial. The tech giant is working hard to expand the base and there are reasons to believe that it is planning a potential iPhone competitor in the coming months.
Reports suggest that people who own handsets running Windows 8.0 and Windows 8.1 are actually losing patience waiting for the Windows 10 Mobile update after a few reports claimed the Lumia 535 and Lumia 640 have already received the software.
A report suggested that T-Mobile Poland has actually released the Windows 10 Mobile OTA update for at least one Lumia device. Reports suggest that the lucky handset is Lumia 640. It is also being reported that that T-Mobile variants of the Lumia 535 in Latin America have got the software.
There are speculations and more speculations as to when the update will arrive. A report by WMpoweruser, T-Mobile Moderator on the company’s discussion forum says: “Windows 10 Mobile update start between the 14th and 21st January, and will take the OS up to version 10586.63 (sic)”.
Though the less endowed handsets with less than 8GB storage will not get the update, others including Lumia 430, Lumia 532, Lumia 535, Lumia 540, Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 735, Lumia 830 and Lumia 930 are expected to get the update.
