Windows 10 coming to Xiaomi in China, India may next
This is a great news and many Microsoft and Xiaomi and of course Lenovo lovers are going to love it. Microsoft has finally announced that Windows 10 is going to be available in China on Xiaomi and Lenovo handset. The software/ hardware giant has reportedly reached a deal with China to extend the reach of Windows 10.
The announcement was made during the WinHEC conference this past Tuesday. The company has announced that one of Chinaâ€™s top smartphone makers Lenovo will make at least one Windows 10-powered smartphone that will be released in China probably this year.
It is also being said that the handset will be sold on China Mobile, the largest cellular network in the country.
To be true this is going to be the first handset from Lenovo running on Windows operating syste. To be true it is Microsoft and Microsoft alone that manufactures Windows running handset. Following the acquisition of Nokia it manufactures at least nine out of ten handsets that arrive in the market.
But if this was not enticing enough you have more. At WinHEC another project was announced that will ensure the arrival of Windows 10 to Xiaomi phones. Xiaomi is now the biggest seller of smartphones in mainland China. The company has sold more than 61 million handsets in the eyar 2014 alone and this year it may sell 100 million or more handset.
In a blog post the company said, â€œThrough a new program with Xiaomi, one of the top smartphone distributors in the world, a select group of Xiaomi Mi 4 power users will be invited to help test Windows 10 and contribute to its future release later this year. These power users will have the opportunity to download the Windows 10 Technical Preview – installing it and providing their feedback to Microsoftâ€.
