Donald Trump unrelenting, says Megyn Kelly should apologize
Donald Trump is fast losing many of his admirers, especially female supporters, following the GOP debate last week. His comments against Megyn Kelly seem to be like going too far for a serious contender for White House 2016.
Not only the issue of his comments is distracting him and his campaign managers from paying attention to other important issue, most of his time is being spent in justifying his onslaught against Fox News’ Megan Kelly.
The Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump in the course of GOP debate became furious when confronted with his misogynist comments spread over a period of time. Since then he has launched scathing attack against a very respected broadcaster, Kelly.
Following the debate he has kept his guns fixated at Megyn Kelly and has been talking about her as if he cannot take her off his mind. This doesn’t present a good picture about someone who wants to be the commander in-chief of the US.
In an interview with the CNN last week, he crossed all limits when he said “She gets out and she starts asking me all sorts of ridiculous questions…You know, you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever. In my opinion, she was off base.â€
Now when almost everyone is asking him to apologize to Kelly he says, it is Kelly who should apologize to him. “She should really be apologizing to me, to tell the truth,” Trump told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” There is no denying the fact that his attack has forced many of his supporters to leave him besides he got disinvited from the past weekend’s conservative Red State conference.
Here is his full comment against Kelly.
“Well, I just don’t respect her as a journalist. I have no respect for her. I don’t think she’s very good. I think she’s highly overrated. But when I came out there—you know, what am I doing, I’m not getting paid for this—I go out there, and you know, they start saying lift up your arm if you’re gonna… And you know I didn’t know there’d be 24 million people. I knew it was going to be a big crowd, because I get big crowds, I get ratings. They call me the ratings machine. And she gets out and she starts asking me all sorts of ridiculous questions. You know, you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever. In my opinion, she was off base. And by the way, not in my opinion—in the opinion of hundreds of thousands of people on Twitter because it has been a brutal day. In one way, a great day for Fox. In another way, in the Twittersphere, it’s been very bad, because she’s been very badly criticized. (Crosstalk) Hey, she’s a lightweight. I couldn’t care less about her. In fact, you’re competing against her and I’m doing your showâ€.
