Everyone is asking as to who won GSP vs Hendricks fight? UFC 167 results & GSP vs Johny Hendricks full highlights (video) are here.
Georges St-Pierre has won the fight against a determined Johny Hendricks with a split decision. But the whole MMA world seems to be very disappointed as most people thought that Georges St-Pierre had actually lost the fight. Though it was really, really very close encounter, people thought that Georges John Hendrick was actually the winner of a ferocious five round fight that brought the bext among the two fighters.
Georges St-Pierre, one of the most accomplished UFC fighter with a great past who was defending his title eighth time in a row, came up with great performance, but it was still not good enough to get him a clear victory. Though he was pronounced the winner, the way he himself, his side and the fans felt shocked clearly showed that even he didn’t expect that result. He was badly bruised after the sort of beating he endured at the hands of John Hendricks.
Even his fans seem to be disappointed. One of his long term fans while writing at a social networking site said, I watched and re-watched the fight and it was much closer than I originally thought but Hendricks still won the fight. I think most people agree GSP won 3 and 5 narrowly. GSP landed a takedown, almost got a guillotine locked in, and landed a hard kick to the head in round 1 so it feasible he won that round but I gave it to Hendricks narrowly. The scoring system is obviously flawed”.
Even GSP was sort of amazed over the turn of events and almost came very close to conceding defeat when he announced that he was going to take sometimes off from fighting. He said that he was planning to “hang up his gloves” for a short while. “There was a lot of talk about what was going to happen [after this fight]…I have a bunch of stuff in my life happening. I need to hang up my gloves for a little bit…I will make a point on that a little later, but for right now, I’ve got to go away for a little bit”, he said after the historic fight. Two judges thought that GSP had won the fight and their score was 48-47 in favor of the GSP, while a third judge gave it 48-47 to Hendricks.
