Watch Pakistan Vs. UAE Asia Cup 2016 Cricket Live Stream and Score: Amir, Sami create havoc, UAE 7for 2
After their poorest of the poor performance by the Pakistani cricket team against India, UAE cricket team must be hoping to o something out of the box an win the match against Pakistan. There is no denying the fact that if the UAE cricket team is fancying their chances against Pakistan there is some sort of truth in their aspirations and hopes.
Under mercurial Shahid Afridi, Pakistani cricket team has started looking completely rudderless. It is despite the fact that on paper they have among top of the order batsmen.
Individual batsmen and bowlers cannot contribute much on their own. A captain needs to create confidence in his flock. And if there is one captain who has neither a plan nor gains the confidence by leading his boys from the front, he is useless for the team.
It seems ages when Shahid Afridi performed with the bat or the ball. The man who once inspired confidence in his boys by leading them from the front has become a pale shadow of his past.
If despite the presence of top class bowlers in his team he cannot lea his side to win or at least a semblance of competition he deserves to be thrown out of the team.
In the meantime given the threat on the Mirpur pitch Pakistani management need to work hard to win the match with a huge margin. Shahid Afridi and Waqar Younis are aware of Pakistan’s problems, though neither chose to lay blame. The pitches in the UAE had been slow but straightforward otherwise; spinners were the major threat and once they were handled, batting became simple enough. Not so in Bangladesh, where the new ball keeps zinging off a green pitch. Pakistan were still holding on against India until a couple of run-outs totally derailed them. If they can be a little more careful, runs are still on offer as the innings wears on.
On the other hand, they have a great bowler who can rip apart the top order of any team in the form of Muohammad Amir. On the other hand Amir’s performance against India can’t be called a revelation because he was always a freakish fast-bowling talent. But he could have lost that talent after five years in cricketing exile. The fact that he hasn’t is cause for Pakistan to stay upbeat. UAE captain Amjad Javed had expressed a hope that his own batsmen take inspiration from how his bowlers have set up matches for victory. Pakistan’s batsmen should be thinking along similar lines. If they’d made 30 more runs than the 83 they had crumbled to on Saturday, who knows what could have happened?
