It is going to be one of the biggest matches in the Asia Cup 2016 being played in Bangladesh. Two top cricket teams with a history of animosity between them and three wars between the two nations will be fighting it out. The winner not just wins the game, it also wins the prestige of beating a historic adversary.

India and Pakistan have played very rarely in the last couple of year. At times there are hopes that the two nations with their improving relations will be able to play more frequently. But just when there seems to be some sort of hope, the relations always take a turn for the worse, once again dampening the hopes of increased cricket ties between the two neighbors.

Probably it is only second match between the two cricketing giants in the last one year. It is not that the cricket boards of the two nations are not able to monetize the matches of the two teams. These, on the contrary, get the highest attention and from TRP perspective these are simply the bestsellers.dhoni 1

Nonetheless if you a fan of the two teams you will be happy to know that the two nations will play at least two matches including today’s in the next one month. The teams will face off Saturday in Shere Bangla National Stadiu in Mirpur, Bangladesh. Start time is at 7:30 p.m. local time (1:30 p.m. GMT). The match will be broadcast on Star Sports in India and available for live streaming video for those watching on the Internet.

Pakistan hasn’t done so well in recent matches. Star Sports noted that Pakistan will have to overcome some difficulties in the T20 format if they want to win Saturday’s match. “Pakistan’s recent run in T20Is has been poor. They were dished out a 3-0 clean sweep by England in the UAE in November last year, followed by a 2-1 series defeat in New Zealand in January this year. They will be itching to get back to winning ways in the Asia Cup before the big World T20 in March. They’ve got what it takes to get back to winning ways too, with a more than formidable bowling attack of Mohammad Irfan, Wahab Riaz, and the returning Mohammad Amir. Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik will lend experience to a batting line-up consisting the exciting Umar Akmal and Sarfraz Ahmed.”

It must be kept in mind that has been the tradition, the primary contest will be between India’s batsmen and Pakistan’s bowlers. The latter enter the series with a pace-heavy squad, with as many as four fast bowlers in the ranks. The two games played so far in the series indicate that the wicket suits the bowlers more than the batsmen. Dew too is a concern. In the opening game against Bangladesh, India’s top order struggled to negotiate the up-and-down nature of the wicket. The match is scheduled for a 7.30 pm local time (7 pm IST, 6.30 pm PKT, 1.30 pm GMT, 8.30 am ET) start. Viewers in India can sit back, try and relax, instead of biting their nails, and watch the match live on Star Sports 1, Star Sports 3, Star Sports HD3 and Star Sports HD1. Hotstar and Starsports online will also provide the online live streaming options if your better half forces you out of the house on Saturday evening.

Viewers in Pakistan can watch the Asia Cup action live on Geo Super, PTV and Ten Sports. The online live stream option is on PTV Live Stream.
