The game was sinfully interesting and the spectators were well rewarded with worthwhile match. USA vs. Canada Women’s Hockey: USA beaten, score & recap Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics  [VIDEO]

Canada seems to be galloping ahead in terms of winning the high number of medals in the Sochi Winter Olympics 2014. The country has already won as many as 11 medals and is close behind Germany that has won five gold medals and one silver medal. In comparison Canadian athletes have done their country proud by winning as many as four gold medals, an equal number of silver medals and three bronze medals. This is simply amazing as the Canadian side is doing far better than expectations.

Norway that seemed to be ahead of everyone else for days has gone on the third place thanks to the stellar performances of Canada and Germany that looked laggards initially. Norway, though has won largest number of medals, but it has won four gold medals and three silver medals. Besides, the Norwegian athletes have won five bronze medals. But, the Norwegian side is expected to get to the top in the coming days.

Meanwhile Canadian team is galloping ahead towards winning Olympic women’s hockey tournament. Today they emphatically beat the United States’ women’s hockey team 3-2 in Sochi. But Canada’s victory today wouldn’t have been possible without the stellar and very inspiring performance by none other than Megan Agosta who managed to score twice and had a huge role in the third goal that Hayley Wickenheiser inflicted on the United State’s side goal to lead Canada to a 3-2 victory over the United States.

Apparently the USA gals were initially ahead but Agosta managed to come up with a great goal in the second period that helped tie the game 1-1. Then the side regained the confidence and the rest as they say is history. Till around the last moment the US team was down 3-1, but they didn’t gave up hope and scored merely two minutes before the end of the game. United States came very close to scoring a goal in the final second but they couldn’t use the golden opportunity and the penalty couldn’t be effectively turned into goal. Had they managed the goal the match would have ended in a draw.
