US women beat Australia in FIFA World Cup 2015 soccer, Hope Solo comes on top
WINNIPEG : As we predicted earlier, the U.S. womenâ€™s national soccer team beat Australian eves in their inaugural match quite comfortably. The team USA showed that it was well prepared to unseat Japan and win the FIFA Womenâ€™s World Cup 2015.
If the team is able to keep the momentum and win the cup this year, it will hold Olympic womenâ€™s soccer title and the Womenâ€™s World Cup title together.
Nonetheless the journey is not going to be easy. There are many other teams that will also try as hard as the Team USA to win the title and take the cup along with them. The toughest team that is ranked higher than even the USA is Germany and it is going to be a tough challenger before the USA eves in the coming days.
The match was enticing from the beginning till the end and the soccer starved spectators enjoyed the match. There is no denying the fact that locked in an even match with Australia for much game, the second-ranked Americans scored twice in the second half to secure a 3-1 victory before a pro-U.S. crowd of 31,148 at Investors Group Field.
The match initially looked more even than the latter part of the game. Rapinoe scored in the 12th minute, but Lisa De Vanna came up with a scintillating performance and a great goal to tie it 15 minutes later. American soccer fans were apprehensive as Australian side played exceptionally well in the first half. They threatened to beat the Americans for the first time in 25 meetings. But Press broke the tie and Rapinoe padded the lead in the 78th minute.
The Team America will play their second game, Friday night against Sweden. American soccer fans were present in huge number. A report says that American supporters arrived by the thousands via flights from all over and in automobiles splashed with U.S. colors and art. The game was played across a border was looked and sounded like a home match.
