UGC HRD Centre, AMU observes ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’
Aligarh : The UGC Human Resource Development Centre, Aligarh Muslim University recently organized a programme to observe the â€˜Vigilance Awareness Weekâ€™ in a response to the nation-wide call of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). The on-going â€˜Vigilance Awareness Weekâ€™ through out the country started from October 26 and will end on October 31.
While presiding over the programme, Professor Abdur Raheem Kidwai, Director, UGC HRDC said that all public servants should act as custodians of the public property, funds and authority at their disposal.
He also administered the pledge for right conduct including honesty, earnestness and sincerity to the job and the government office.
Dr Hafiz Abrar, Assistant Professor, Sunni Theology, Womenâ€™s College, AMU gave a talk on the relevance of morals and ethics in public dealings.
He said that Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) maintained truthful accountability of money, credit etc even to his dire enemies.
Dr Abrar added that AMU is distinguishable as its founders and propellers were committed to the interest of the institution with body mind and soul.
Dr Faiza Abbasi, Assistant Director, UGC HRDC said that it is a worthy move of the CVC to reinvigorate the public servants with the mission of building a corruption free society.
She also informed that during the up-coming courses of the UGC HRDC, a lecture on fair public dealings and essay competitions on elimination of corruption in government offices will be organized for the course participants, who are higher education teachers from all over India.
All staff members of the UGC HRDC, AMU participated in this programme.
