U P State Information Commissioner visits AMU campus
Aligarh: The Uttar Pradesh State Information Commissioner, Mr S Haider Abbas Rizvi and his wife Dr Maha Kazim recently visited the Aligarh Muslim University campus where they met the AMU Vice Chancellor, Lt General Zameer Uddin Shah (retd).
On visiting the Sir Syed House, Maulana Azad Library, Musa Dakri Museum and the Moinuddin Art Gallery in the university campus, Mr Rizvi said that he was overwhelmed by the hospitality.
During the library visit, Mr Rizvi and his wife were shown rare manuscripts, periodicals, theses, dissertations, reports, pamphlets, paintings, photographs, e-books and talking books besides other rare collections. They were also shown a rare collection of books published during the 18th and 19th centuries.
â€œIt is a great experience to see how well these rare manuscripts are being digitalized in the AMU,â€ said Mr Rizvi.
During their visits to the Musa Dakri Museum and Moinuddin art Gallery, Mr Rizvi said that it was a wonderful experience to see a glimpse of history through the rare artifacts in the museum and beautiful ambience in the art gallery is mesmerizing.
Mr Rizvi and his wife also appreciated the efforts of AMU Vice Chancellor and the administration to improve the university rankings and the on going work to bring AMU on the number one spot of Indian universities before 2017.
The couple also visited Sir Syed Ahmad Khanâ€™s Mazaar (grave) to pay their tribute.
