Two leopard skins recovered in Himachal


    NAHAN :  According to information reached here CIA staff of Sirmour Police arrested three residents of Renuka ji area with charas and two leopard skins at Kali Dhang near Jatoun about 45 KM from here last night.

    Confirming the arrests, S. P. Sirmour Mr J. P. Singh told The Tribune this evening that working on the tip off, officials of CIA staff managed to arrest Subhash Chand resident of village Sunder Ghat, Tejender Singh resident of village Ganog and Sant Ram resident of village Sail Pab of Sangrah tehsil red handed while they were trying to manage a illegal sale deal.

    Police recovered two leopard skins of 6 feet 9 inch and 6 feet 6 inch dimensions costing over rupees 20 lakhs in the international market and 440 grams of Charas having over rupees 10 thousand market value from their possession.

    He said that cases under ND&PS Act and wild life protection act had been registered against the accused. The matter was under investigation and their links in the market was being scanned.

    He said that last week Shillai Police had also arrested Ashwani Kumar, a resident of Mujaffarpur in Uttar Pradesh with one K.G. of Charas at Minus Bridge in Shillai tehsil.
