Training programme on ground water concluded
ALIGARH March 19: A five-day TIER-II Training Program on â€œSustainable Development and Management of Ground Water Resourcesâ€ organized by Central Ground Water Board, Northern Region, Lucknow in collaboration with the Department of Geology, Aligarh Muslim University, concluded here yesterday.
AMU Registrar Dr. Asfar Ali Khan presided over the valedictory function, while Prof. M. Mohsin Khan, Proctor attended the programme as guest of honour.
The participants of the programme included Dr. Masroor Alam Khan, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Mr. Abdul Samad Siddiqui, Research Scholar and Ms. Mavia Khanam, student of P.G. Diploma, Hydrogeology, who also gave their feedback on this occasion.
Dr. M. N. Khan, Officer Incharge, State Unit CGWB Allahabad, presented a summary of the training program and stressed on the conservation of groundwater resources.
Dr. Asfar Ali Khan, Registrar, highlighted the importance of groundwater in the present scenario, stressing that this is not an infinite resource as thought earlier but a finite one.Â He also stressed on peopleâ€™s participation in the management of groundwater resources.
Prof. M. Mohsin Khan highlighted the importance of water resource management and focused on interdisciplinary approach to manage this precious resource. Certificates were distributed to the participants by Dr. Asfar Ali Khan and Prof. Mohsin Khan.
Prof. Liaqat A. K. Rao, Chairperson, Department of Geology welcomed the participants and the guests.Â Dr. Rashid Umar conducted the Program.
