This has been very exciting month for the new world number one. Tiger Woods Lindsey Vonn dating, and his Arnold Palmer Invitational 2013 win and prize money are great news for the man who looked down and out not very long ago. He has won $1.1 million from his latest win.
Tiger Woods has reclaimed his number one position in the golf now and many people are sure that the man who was looking out and lost till sometime ago will be able to rule the sporting world for many years to come. Though the game has become more competitive than it was, say a couple of years ago, nonetheless Tiger Woods has shown remarkable resilience and determination in improving his game and keeping him focused. One more aspect that is going to help him stay on top is the fact that no other player has so much exposure at this top level consistently.
One outcome of the Arnold Palmer Invitational tournament is the fact that Tiger Woods will again be flooded with offers to promote different products. He has been the brand ambassador of so many top companies and now they are once again going to come to him trying to attract him with enticing offers. His main source of income has been from his affiliations with different brands and though his image still remain tarnished, people’s memory is short and they would love to forget his past if he gives consistently good results on golf courses.
Tiger Woods victory at Arnold Palmer Invitational was very impressive and it has catapulted him to the top once again. People too were very warm during the just concluded tournament. Wherever Woods went, a thundering applause could be heard following him. Justin Rose and Bill Haas were the leaders until Woods made it to the play. After that it was only Woods. He was in full command after returning a brilliant six-under 66 for a two-shot lead over compatriots John Huh (71) and Rickie Fowler (67) as well as Briton Rose (72). Friday was completely out of order for Woods, as he had a disastrous end due to three consecutive bogeys. But he managed to get into his comfort zone without much of a battling it out. He resorted to his favorite layouts, mixing an eagle and five birdies with a single bogey.
While talking to the media on the sidelines of the tournament Woods said, “Generally our schedules are such that once we figure out what golf courses we like, we tend to play them. That’s been the case with my scheduling and look at few events over the course of my career I’ve played well on and this is one of them.” Woods had clearly stated that because he had won the initial rounds did not make him confident that he would make it the same way on Sunday but he did except the weather spoiling it for him but he made up for Sunday on Monday. He said that there were different conditions but the objective remained the same.
Sean Gregory while talking about Tiger Woods’ return to the top says in Time, “Tiger’s revival required patience, and extreme discipline: he switched coaches, rearranged his swing again, pounded away at his putting. Once again, he’s the man to beat at the Masters, which starts on April 11. He might not win his fifth Green Jacket. But once again, Tiger Woods is the best in the world”. He is certainly trying his best and no one can deny him his due place.
