Microsoft Surface Pro 4 release date today: Specs, features, live streaming details

Microsoft’s Surface Pro is going to be a reality within hours. The software giant is set to announce multiple products within the next few hours and there is great excitement among Surface pro fans who are expecting the Surface Pro 4 to come with many improvements and changes.

From size to design, everything is expected to change with the much successful tablet/laptop hybrid. Microsoft may also decide to improve the display quality and is all set to put in a much more powerful processor. This is not all. It is also expected to have a thinner bezel and much improved battery backup.

A report in leading tech blog BGR says, “The device will have a bigger display with resolution going as high as 5K with thinner bezels. Rumors suggest that in laptop mode the device will have a 13-inch screen while in tablet mode it’ll have a 12-inch screen, thanks to a new smart frame feature meant to prevent accidental taps on the screen when the device is held as a tablet…The 13-inch model is expected to be lighter and thinner than the predecessor. On top of that, a 14-inch model might also be in the making, with Microsoft expected to unveil it during the same event”.

microsoft-surface 2The new version of the tab will come with Intel 6th generation Skylake processor. This processor will give two great advantages to Microsoft. It will help the company make the Prop 4 thinner and lighter. The processor is also expected to fix the heating issues that the Surface Pro 3 faced.

This is not all. A report that appeared in Tech Radar says that till now it is not clear as to whether Microsoft will use the Core M line. This is important because the Core M will allow for the company to ditch the fan inside the laptop-tablet hybrid, cutting down noise and allowing more room for other components, without compromising thinness and design. Another rumor doing the round at the moment is that the Surface pro 4 will be coming with 8GB and 16GB of LPDDR4 RAM and is expected to have a variety of storage space as well, raging from 128GB/256GB/512GB, and a probably 1TB version expected to appear on the shelves. As for its other storage specifications, the Surface Pro 4 is said to introduce a USB Type-C port for storage devices.

Microsoft’s event takes place on October 6th at 10 a.m. EST. You can watch the event live on Microsoft’s website.
