‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ advance ticket sales breaks every record, collects $100 million
This is a record and we may have to wait many years before this record can be broken by any other movie. ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ advance ticket sales have crossed a record breaking $100 million mark and it is still going strong.
Latest reports suggest that the advance ticket sales for J J Abrams’ sci-fi flick Star Wars: The Force Awakens has established a new benchmark when it comes to advance ticket sales. In USA the advance ticket sale has generated $100 million.
Latest reports suggest that the advance ticket sale actually includes $50 million to $60 million in advance ticket sales for the opening weekend of the film. The world premiere of Force Awakens was held on Monday night in Los Angeles and the film will begin rolling out Thursday night before hitting theatres across the world on Friday morning.
Thus far Disney has refused to speak a word when it comes to the record-breaking advance tickets sales. The theater owners these days like to add screenings of the film to accommodate demand, with studio insiders repeatedly claiming that there are still plenty of seats available over opening weekend. So if they want to play the movie, theaters have to commit to carrying Force Awakens for four to five weeks.
