Special team to access encroachment on property of deity “NAR SINGH DEVTA”

Nahan: A special team of archeological wing of the department of art, culture and language would access the allegations of encroachment on the huge property of the deity “NAR SINGH DEVTA” near shanti shangam on Shimla road. In a recent communication district language officer has urged the directorate to provide a special team of archeological wing so that a proper enquiry could be conducted on the land. A report of  the executive magistrate cum Tehsildar submitted to Deputy commissioner on 22nd May 2010 had established that there was 47,301.17(56 bigha) square meter land was on the name of Deity in the revenue record. On which Deputy Commissioner had sent a report to Chief Minister on 21st July 2010. Although no agency have evaluated the cost of property so far but sources says it could have been the worth of 50-55 corers in market but it could be more in square meters. A local resident Gopal aggarwal had requested Chief Minister for constituting a trust for the protection of huge land and removal of encroachment in September 2009. On the other hand 1288 square meter land was on the name of Shri Krishan jee Maharaj. Though the land was located with thin the territory of the town so it has values in crorers. According to the revenue experts the cost of the property could be more than 55 crorers, which should be protected from the encroachers. It is learnt that Chief Minister Office had also given the instruction to Principal Secretary, art, culture and language for examining the matter on 25th October 2010.According to other information, Deputy Commissioner Padam Singh Chauhan had also instruct the SDM Devender Kanwar for legal aspects in constituting the trust in the huge property of Deity ”NAR SINGH”.  The ancient temple of the Deity also exists in the land in pitiable condition as most of the land around the temple is being encroached. When asked, SDM Devender kanwar said that the legal opinion was being taken and added that the administration was serious over the issue.
