Sony’s new Android flagship the Xperia Z has just gone official. Here we discuss 8 amazing features of the handset that the Japanese tech maker announced at CES 2013 with many breathtaking features. It is now one of the most innovative Android handsets. It can beat all major Android and other top-of-the-line phones in market. Here we check a few major features that stand out the handset from the rest of phones in market. Let us move to the features here.

Water & Dust Proof: The market has too many water and dust resistant handsets. Many companies produce special devices with the capabilities.  But, Sony has implemented the feature on its next Android flagship phone. Xperia Z is an IP57 certified phone that can stay unharmed even if you sink it to 1 meter of waters for 30 minutes.

A Full HD Display: Among the crowd, the Xperia Z will stand out with a FullHD display. Of course, it will have many rivals with the same display technology in coming months. But, the new Xperia phone mounts a 1080p 5-inch TFT display that has a whopping pixel density of 441-ppi. The screen supports up to 10 fingers and it is made of the company’s Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2. The screen is protected against shatters with quality scratch resistance technology.

“BRAVIA engineers have discovered that we remember colors more vividly than they really are. That’s the kind of knowledge they put into creating brilliant colors for our screens,” says Sony.

A Quality Phablet: The Xperia Z is one of the members to the recent line of 5-inch phablets. Apart from all other phablets, the Sony phone is great with its build quality, high-end innards and a greater display. For sure, the Xperia phone can fiercely take on its potential rivals like the Galaxy S4, HTC J Butterfly, Huawei Ascend D2 and others.

Advanced Processor: The Sony phone will be powered by a 1.5GHz quad core Krait (Qualcomm MDM9215M / APQ8064) processor, Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB RAM. This sophisticated processing unit can ensure better power form the machine. It will make the device one of the most powerful phones in market.

Fresh Firmware: The new Xperia phone supports the recent versions of Android. It is to come out of cover with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It is also compatible for the most recent Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. This firmware is currently available only on Google Nexus phones. It may come to the Z soon after it is available for non-Nexus devices.

Great Cameras: The handset has an amazing 13.1MP autofocus rear camera with the world’s first Exmor RS for mobile with HDR video. It can shoot video and images in great quality and perfection. “HDR for photos and videos captures natural colors in any light,” says Sony. It is an “imaging technology used to capture clear photos against strong backlight,” Sony says.

The camera further features LED flash, geo-tagging, sweep panorama and face detection. You can certainly take video at 1080p@30fps with continuous autofocus, video light and stabilizer. The phone also sports a high quality 2.2MP front camera that can also capture video at 1080p.

Powerful Battery: The Z mounts a powerful Li-Ion 2330 mAh battery. It can give longer life for the handset. Sony promises up to 14 hours of talk time on 3G network. But, it is a minus point that the battery is non-removable.

Rich Connectivity Options: All essential options for network and data connectivity are there with the phone. It offers GPRS, EDGE, HSUPA and HSDPA for network connectivity. It is also a 4G LTE phone. Further, it touts Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and microUSB 2.0 port.
