Encashing from the disaster in which a resort was completely demolished after it was devoured by a sinkhole in Florida, the owners have now invited the guests to have a look from  down under. The time shared resort got destroyed in following the sinkhole which took place on Sunday night.

Speaking about the future operations of the resort that was situated six miles from Walt Disney, world, Paul Caldwell, the general manager of Summer Bay Resorts said: “The geological and structural testing under way on the 100-foot wide cavern and the surrounding buildings should be complete by Wednesday.”

Revealing about the night of horror, Caldwell said: “Guests staying in the downed building were evacuated by an alert security guard who ran inside to wake occupants as the structure was twisting and collapsing around him. No one was injured. A total of 36 people were evacuated from two buildings on the sprawling 64-acre property, which has a total of 900 units.”

It may be mentioned here that Florida is not new to the sinkholes occurrences as it has porous limestone foundation. In fact taking a step to avert future tragedies taking place out of these occurrences, measures to create a state-wide geological mapthat would reveal the vulnerabilities to sinkholes would be undertaken. It is said that the map would be used by the local governments in taking the decisions to grant the building permits.

Sinkholes occur as a result of naturally acidic underground water flowing through and dissolving the underlying limestone. North and central Florida generally are more vulnerable than south Florida.
