Both are top handsets from two different Korean tech giant. Here we take a look at Samsung Galaxy S4 and LG Optimus G Pro specs, price and release date schedule
The smartphone maker LG is planning to strike back in the smartphone market with their all new LG Optimus G Pro smartphone that will soon release on AT&T.
Last week, the LG Optimus G Pro was launched in Japan which is now ready to be released overseas. The LG Optimus G Pro is a phablet with some of the exciting and exclusive features in it. The LG phablet boasts a 5.5- inch 1080p Full HD touchscreen display with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor.
Similar to its major rival Samsung Galaxy S IV, the LG Optimus G Pro comes embedded in a shiny plastic body that will certainly lack behind in front of Apple’s iPhone 5 and HTC One, in terms of body design. The LG Optimus G Pro comes with two color options of body cover, black and white.
The LG Optimus G Pro is one of the larger phones available with 5.8 x 3 x 0.37 inches and weighing 6.2 ounces. The phablet features a 1.7 GHz Krait 300 Quad-core processor along with 2 GB of RAM, 13 megapixel rear camera with LED, 2.1 megapixel front facing camera, 32 GB in-built memory card. The LG Optimus G Pro runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with NFC, Miracast support and comes with a 3,140 mAh battery.
Apart from those features, the phablet brags a new multimedia UX feature called Smart Video that allows advanced eye recognition technology. The phone will also feature a 13 megapixel camera that LG claims as “the world’s first Dual Camera function”.
Just like Samsung’s Smart Pause feature, LG’s Smart Video makes use of eye recognition technology to follow user’s eyes movements and automatically stops or plays a video without controlling manually.
Meanwhile, the Dual Camera feature allows user to capture photos using both front and rear cameras for a picture- in- picture image.
Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, said, “LG is continuously innovating to offer creative ways to offer a user experience that adds value to our customers. It’s the positive UX that will differentiate smartphones in 2013 and beyond, not only cutting-edge hardware specs.”
The 3,140 mAh battery removable battery of the Optimus G Pro lasts up to 6 hours and 49 minutes running on AT&T’s 3G network.
The device is currently available only in South Korea but is expected to be released in the U.S. on May 10, running on AT&T’s 4G LTE network.
On the other hand Korean tech giant Samsung’s Galaxy S4 is about to arrive in leading markets. Being officially released early March 2013 in New York City, it will soon go for sales in over 100 markets. Early markets to get the new Samsung flagship include the U.S.A, U.K., France, Germany and Australia and more. With the entire mobile world is keenly looking forward for the device, it seems to be the right time to talk about the release date schedules of the phone across the globe. the S4 is to be sold by all top and small-time carriers in the U.S. Already we came across the reports that carriers like Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and U.S Cellular have almost expressed their plans to ship out the device as early as possible in the month of April. For your knowledge, the U.S. market is much-valued for Samsung, because it has been selling record number of flagships there in the past. AT&T is likely to start Galaxy S4 rollout in the U.S. on April 16th with a price of $249 on two-year data contract. T-Mobile, at the same time, hinted that it would begin selling the gadget from 1st May. So like, other service providers like Sprint, Verizon, U.S. Cellular and Cincinnati Bell are to ship Galaxy S4 sometime late April or early May 2013.
