The Galaxy S3 and Galaxy 2 Plus are two different handsets. They have different displays, processors and memory options. The S2 Plus, at the same time, is equipped with a 1.2GHz dual core processor and 1GB of RAM. It is yet to know what GPU the handset will mount for smooth graphical performance.

The 2011 Galaxy S phone has an 8MP camera and so its upgraded version gets the same sensor. Samsung has also kept up the same camera on its 2012 Galaxy S3 as well. The crevices offer all cutting edge camera features like LED flash, simultaneous HD video and image recording, autofocus and 1080p video recording capability.
Regarding front–facing cameras, S3 has a 1.9MP sensor, while the S2 Plus keeps the same 2MP front sensor of its original. For network connectivity, the handsets show up almost identical options like EDGE, GPRS, HSDPA, and HSUPA. But, S3 is 4G LTE compatible in some markets like the U.S. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and USB port. When it comes to battery, the S3, the more powerful handset, packs a Li-Ion 2100 mAh battery, whereas the S2 Plus has a 1650 mAh battery.
Software & Apps
Out in market, you can see both the Samsung handsets running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The S2 Plus is slated to hits stores with this firmware version under the hood and it may soon get Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update. But, in case of the S3, it arrived to stores with Android 4.0 ICS and was later updated to the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The handsets support Google Play and so users can download any apps they wish to do.
Price & Availability
Samsung avails its latest member to the Galaxy S series all across the world. It may be one of the handsets that are available widespreadly. It can also be seen in its market performance. Samsung could sell over 30 million units of the machine last year. Talking about rate, the device is priced at around $600 SIM free. Carriers sell the device for different offers and deals, however. Samsung has not yet revealed the price of S2 Plus, however. There is no mention about the possible markets that are to get the device first.
Audiences of Galaxy S3 are simply the former Galaxy S2 users. People used to upgrade their handsets when there are fresh versions. This trend often leads tech makers to launch yearly upgrades to their major products. Many people leave Apple iPhone and join the Android platform through S3. The audience of S2 Plus will be the customers, who don’t like the larger S3 or afford its price. They may welcome a fresh upgrade for to the Galaxy S2.
