Samsung has finally rolled out Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for its second generation Galaxy S2. The device has been long expected to get the firmware update. It is now getting the update through Samsung Kies and Over-The-Air (OTA) in some regions. In a few weeks, it will come to many more regions. Anyway, check out if your Galaxy S2 is showing the update in the notification from your carrier. If so, it is the time for you to update the phone with the much-lauded Jelly Bean update.

“You might not be able to update your device to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean right away as the update is rolling out in phases,” says SamMobile. It is not clear which carriers offer the update for Galaxy S2 right now. The update is now up for Galaxy S3 versions that run on TI-OMAP 4430 chipsets, rather than the ones with Exynos chips. For sure, the Jelly Bean is to bring many changes to the look and feel of the handset. Apart from ICS, Jelly Bean is known for its cool look.

“The new update to Jelly Bean brings with it all of the recent TouchWiz enhancements, including Nature UX, Pop-up Play, expanded notifications, Project Butter enhancements, and others,” says GSMA Arena. Here we discuss various enhancements the Jelly Bean might bring to the Galaxy S2. As per reports, the S2 will be a cool handset with lots of exciting features including faster processor, speedy web surfing, cool interface and more with the new firmware update.

Samsung Galaxy S2 with Jelly Bean 4.1 Features
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean offers many exciting features. Here we go through five nice features that the software update will bring to Galaxy S2.

Buttery Smooth Performance & Stability: Thanks to Project Butter, the most-appreciated feature of 4.1 Jelly Bean, the handset will provide better performance and stability. Project Butter is capable to boost the speed of the device like butter. “Buffering tweaks, increased frame rates, a system which keeps rendering and touch input events in sync better, and touch prediction come together to make everything run just a little bit more nicely,” says Rosa Golijan of NBC News while reviewing the feature.

Complete Full User Interface Revamp: One another attraction point of the Jelly Bean update is a complete interface revamp. The Ice Cream Sandwich didn’t bring much more interface changes from its predecessor the Gingerbread. But, with the Jelly Bean update, you can enjoy the same look and feel of Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II on the device. It will be quite smoother for you to surf through the apps and open them.

Samsung S Cloud Services: The new firmware update will also avail the S Cloud service of Samsung to the users of Galaxy S2 as well. Users can enjoy more enhanced experience in storing data online. Along with the renewed interface and other upgrades, the device will be easier to use.

Improved Camera: Camera is a very important factor of any phone. Fresh updates to any mobile OS will add something new to the camera features. The new Android Jelly Bean can offer better improvements to the camera app and other features of Galaxy S2. So, you can capture far better video and images using the gadget.

Google Now: Google’s voice recognition app Google Now is also a major attraction of the update. You can enjoy better voice command options with the device once you update it with the new firmware. Many analysts have compared the Now with Apple’s Siri voice recognition app. In many aspects, Google Now is doing well over the Siri.

Other Features: Your Galaxy S2 will also get a variety of new features that include a new lockscreen with rich customization options, new widgets, a pair of home screen modes and other new features like Smart Stay, Pop-up play, Direct Call and more.
