Samsung Galaxy Note 5 specs and release date rumors: Will it bring back Sammy from the brink?
Samsung Galaxy Note 5 launch is very close. In fact it is closer than we actually thought. The company that had launched its best smartphone err phablet in September last year seems to have preponed the launch of the newer version amidst concerns and reports that its flagships were not doing well in the market.
There is no denying the fact that Korean tech giant, Samsung’s Galaxy S6 and other top of the line handsets are not able to hold their own amidst intensifying competition from other smartphone makers, particularly Apple.
There are rumors doing the rounds that Sammy has brought the launch of its handset forward to get the early bird advantage against Cupertino based Apple that is all set to introduce iPhone’s new versions. There is every likelihood that Apple will be launching iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus in the market, further adding to Samsung’s troubles. Apple’s decision to go bigger with iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus seems to have dented Samsung’s market across the world. With bigger size, Cupertino based Apple has won new territories and the new handsets are going to further increase its market traction that has seen a northward movement for the last many years.
There is no denying the fact that we know the Galaxy Note 5 in and out pretty well. Evan Blass (@evleaks like always came out with Galaxy Note 5 images that he posted on his blog. If that was not enough he also posted Galaxy S6 Edge Plus images too, giving Sammy fans as to how the two handsets will look like.
When it comes to specifications and features we know almost for sure as to what the two handsets will come out with. A report in IBTimes claims that the two handsets will come with QHD (2560x1440p) just like the 5.1-inch Galaxy S6 series, but the screen will be 5.7-inch in size. There is no denying the fact that the display quality will be impeccable with 515 ppi (pixels per inch) in Galaxy Note 5 and 534 ppi in Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.
As far as innards are concerned a leak attributed to AnTuTu performance mark sheet says that the Galaxy Note 5 (SM-N9200) and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus (SM-G928F) scored 69,702 and 68,345 points respectively, thanks to Samsung’s powerful proprietary Exynos 7420 Octa-core SoC (System-on-Chip), the very same processor that made Galaxy S6 series a monster. It crushed tier-1 rivals Apple iPhone 6 series and HTC One M9. A report goes on to add that the latest Exynos chipset is said to be backed by advanced 4GB LPDDR 4 series RAM.
