Samsung Galaxy Note 3 not to come with metal body, release date nears

After many rounds of rumors, this is almost sure that Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will not to come with metal body. Meanwhile its release date is expected in third quarter

There may be some disappointments among phablet lovers that Samsung’s next generation Galaxy Note being called Galaxy Note 3 may not be coming with a metal chassis. There were reports doing the rounds earlier that the Korean smartphone company was all set to improve the build quality of its smartphones and phablets by bringing out metallic body of its smartphones. Recently Sammy has accepted that its smartphone’s build quality was comparatively of lower quality and suggested that it will also go for a metallic chassis in the days to come. But apparently this whole exercise needs time to plan and execute it in proper manner.

The redesign is going to take substantial time and to be true there is not enough time between Galaxy S4 launch and bringing out the new phablet. So reports suggest that Galaxy Note 3 will come in the same plastic body of Galaxy S4 and there wouldn’t really be flexible displays or a metallic body.

Leading Samsung fan site SamMobile suggests that the biggest smartphone manufacturer whose latest handset Galaxy S4 has sold as many as 6 million units in the first two weeks of its launch will not be going for metallic chassis in the next Note version. Instead, it says that the Galaxy Note 3 will come in the same polycarbonate case.

Samsung’s Galaxy S4 and other handsets have been criticised for being too plasticky and cheap looking compared to other handsets including Apple’s iPhone and HTC’s One flagship handsets. Initially it was being said that the Korean tech company is set go for metal based on the positive response to the rival HTC One, but since Samsung is already responsible for the vast majority of Android sales, the company clearly feels it can turn out a profit with a case of diminished quality. But other than body everything else seems to be great with the Note 3.

As far as specifications of the new Note 3 are concerned, it will come with great specifications including 5.99-inch AMOLED HD Full HD display, 1.7 GHz octa-core processor, 2GB RAM besides 13MP rear camera.

    1. A plastic case is actually a more durable form factor, mitigating the shock and breakage in the event of accidental drops. Why have a metal case that you only look at once while your opening the box and fitting your new shiny phone inside the plastic cover you bought to protect it.. I bought the protective cover for the Galaxy Note 2, plastic on plastic. I’d buy a Kevlar cover if they made one. Anything to protect the phone.
