Samsung creates team with 200 top employees for Apple display
Seoul: they may be enemies when it came to smartphone market, but they also collaborate, and collaborate with long-term perspective.
Latest reports suggest that the Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd has come out with a standalone team of about top level 200 employees who are working full time on screens for Apple Inc. so after bitter court battles, both the companies have realized that they can benefit tremendously by associating with each other.
A Bloomberg report while talking about the development says, â€œThe team at Samsung Display Co., which provides screens for iPads and MacBooks, helps develop products and is only allowed to share information about Apple business within the group, the people said, asking not to be identified because the details arenâ€™t public. The team formed 1 April and also helps with sales, the people saidâ€.
There is no denying the fact that the two companies that control one third of the smartphone market spent billions of dollars in legal fees not just in USA, but also in Europe and Asia on patent issues. It is needless to say that no one got much from the legal fight. There is no denying the fact that Samsung almost owns the smartphone display market. The display business is 85% owned by Samsung Electronics, while the rest is held by Samsung SDI Co.
