Salman Khan past seems to be catching up with the Bollywood actor. By the way it is not Katrina Kaif, but hit-and-run case

Past keeps haunting you for long and it has been proved so yet again for our very own Dabangg Khan. Actor Salman Khan’s plea against a lower court’s order will be heard by a Mumbai session’s court today according to which he will be tried for culpable homicide not amounting to murder in the 2002 hit-and-run case.

On September 28 in 2002, a day that rather proved unfortunate for Salman, one person was killed and four injured after Salman’s Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle rammed into a bakery in Bandra.

Salman has shown the courage to term magistrate’s order ‘bad in law’ and ‘erroneous’ through his petition.

However gory the incident was, but our Dabangg Khan has always stated that his intentions were not to kill someone and the accidents was unforeseen.

About 11 witnesses have already been examined in the hit-and-run case since the trial began. In the due course of time, Salman’s two bodyguards Ramasray Pandey and Ravindra Patil had turned hostile, deepening the already grave problem.

The hit-and-run case led to the actor being tried for rash and negligent driving.

A Mumbai Magistrate’s Court on January 31 had accepted the plea of Maharashtra government stating that the actor should be tried under section 304 (II), Indian Penal Code.

Due to unknown reasons, the hearing in the case that is pending for long now, was to take place in December and that is when Salman has his birthday but it got postponed.

The controversy Khan has another case registered against him. Salman and four other actors were booked for black buck poaching case in 1999.

The poaching had landed him in a momentous stir and Khan was even sentenced to one year rigorous imprisonment on 17 February 2006. Black buck or chinkara is an endangered species.

An appeal was made at the High Court following the RI and the sentence was stayed. He was again handed over a five-year jail term on April 10 the same year and remanded to Jodhpur jail until 13 April when he was granted bail.

But this was not all in the case, charges against Salman and his friends were finalized on 24 July 2012 by the Rajasthan High Court in the endangered black buck killing case, paving way for start of the trial.

Another statement of the actor that spelt trouble was after the 26/11 attacks happened. Khan in an interview to a Pakistani channel in September 2010 had stated that the 26/11 was taken with utmost weightiness due to the fact that the ‘elite’ of Mumbai were targeted during the bloodbath that Mumbai witnessed.

He stated that all guns were pointed at the Taj Hotel where the terrorists took shelter because the whos-who of Mumbai were trapped in with them. He had stated that similar incidents were a regular at small places but nothing happens.

Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra then Chagan Bhujbal, BJP and Shiv Sena were irked over his remarks and had asked for an apology. Khan had rendered an apology later.

Whether it is the hit-and-run case or the chinkara poaching incident, one thing evident from similar incidents with Salman is that he seems to be attracting a storm.
