Rosehip Extract Help Anti-Breast Cancer Fight

This is a great news and many people are going to be particularly happy about it. A latest study has claimed that rosehip actually improves the power of several medicines against ER+ type of breast cancer.

The study not just claims that some herbal extracts are going to be of immense use in many health conditions, they can even go to the extent of enhancing the power of several drugs. The best part of the study is the fact that the ‘Rosehip’ may be able to improve the effectiveness of cancer treatments.

Researchers associated with the study claim that the skyrocketing healthcare system in the US and elsewhere has brought Naturopathy and Homeopathic remedies closer to the people here. The researchers also discovered that Rosehip treatment also reduces the development and migration of Estrogen-Receptor Positive (ER+) type breast cancer.

One of the lead investigators of the study, Assistant Professor Ayesha Shajahan-Haq, PhD while talking about Rosehip treatment said, “Switch on a pro-survival pathway, enabling tumor cells to hunker down and wait out the attack.”

The authors of the report while talking about their study’s findings said that they may have found the reason why there are poorer results for the African-American women with Estrogen-Receptor Positive (ER+) breast cancer compared to the European-American patients. They claim that at Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, the worsened outcome was linked to the strong survival mechanism within the cancer cells in African-American patients.

“From our gene analyses, we found improved activation of the UPR pro-survival pathway in African-American sufferers, compared with other patients, along with improved activity of a quantity of genes related with that pathway. This can lead to enhanced resistance to common therapies” Ayesha Shajahan-Haq goes on to add.

It is needless to say that this is going to be an eye-opening study. She then added, “Our findings provide a partial understanding of racial variations within ER+ breast cancers. We demonstrate both increased resistance to anti-cancer therapy in African-American patients as nicely as the purpose that resistance occurs. Biology may not be the only element contributing to the racial disparities in outcome in the basic public. Variables such as access to mammography, follow-up care or remedy, earnings status and other social components have also been shown to contribute to disparities in outcome.”
