NAHAN: Three unidentified persons with covered faces armed with sticks robbed retired employee K.S. Sandhu in the wee hours of this morning in Sharda colony at Paonta sahib about 45Kmâ€™s away from here. Before robbing the house the robbers detained K.S. Sandhu, who was staying with his granddaughter at the time of occurrence. As per as the robbers targeted the house of a retired employee earlier robbers had targeted an isolated house in Rampur ghat in which the occupants of the house of Puran chand were brutally beaten by the robbers.
According to the statement of K.S. Sandhu recorded by the Police the jewelry worth 1-2 lakh with cash of 15-20 thousands was robbed in the incidence. The bordering area of the state (Paonta sahib) was becoming sensitive as far as the such incidence are concerned as it always remains easy target for robbery gangs operating in the neighboring states of Uttrakhand and Utterpardesh.On the basis of the complaint of K.S.Sandhu the Paonta sahib Police has lodged a case under sectionÂ 382 and 34 IPC. Sources said that during the burglary the robbers were repeatedly calling the name (Tinku) of the son of victim K.S. Sandhu so at this stage investigating team is not ruling out the possibilities of the involvement of the Son of K.S. sandhu. When contacted, SHO, Paonta Sahib Bhishm Thakur said that the case was being investigated and added the back doors of the house were closed temporally which had given the advantage to robbers.
