Riding Club organizes Annual Horsemanship Examination

ALIGARH: The Riding Club of Aligarh Muslim University organized its Annual Horsemanship Examination to judge equitation skills of the fifty four (54) novice riders inducted into the Club.

At a glittering function, the equestrian feats displayed by the young riders were judged by senior members and former captains of the club including Prof. Humayun Murad, Mr. Asad Yar Khan and Mr. Syed Shahabuddin Husain. Mr. Mohammad Umair Khan got first prize while Miss Kulsum Salauddin and Mr. Abdul Wahid Siddiqui shared second prize. Mr. Anas Ansari and Ms. Mitra Amini got third and consolation prizes respectively.

A large number of staff members, students and common people observed the various equestrian events. Prof. M. Shoaib Zaheer, Secretary, University Games Committee, Mr. Mohammad Yunus Khan, President, Riding Club and judges felicitated the winners.

In another memorable event, noted filmmaker and an alumnus of Aligarh Muslim University, Mr. Muzaffar Ali visited the Riding Club and interacted with the office bearers of the Club and young riders. He saw the horses and the royal chariot (buggy).

Mr. Ali shared his memories of his student days in Aligarh and expressed desire to enjoy riding when he makes his next visit to the Club. Mr. S. Husain Abbas Rizvi, Mr. Mahavir Singh, Mr. Nadeem Ansari, Mr. Ali Raza Rizvi, Mr. Saddam Husain (Cabinet AMU Students’ Union), Mr. Arish Azmat, Mr. Syed Ali Zaidi, Mr. Aamir Khan and others were present in the Club.
