Red Ribbon Club formed in JNMC
Aligarh, June 17: A Red-Ribbon Club has been formed at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University to create AIDS awareness among students.
Professor Tariq Manoor, Principal and CMS, JNMC said that the Red Ribbon Clubs have been formed in institutes of higher learning after Government of Indiaâ€™s Department of Higher Education and Department of Aids Control signed a MoU to extend the reach of HIV/AIDS prevention programme.
Prof Mansoor also confirmed that Dr Ali Jafar Abedi, Assistant Professor Community Medicine has been appointed as Coordinator of the Red Ribbon Club in JNMC.
Dr Abedi is member supportive supervision for UPSACS and National trainer for TB and nutrition programmes of Government of India. He is also Liaison Officer of National programmes at JNMCH.
