Chandigarh: The Punjab government will add 100 more AC buses in a fleet of Punjab Roadways and the Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) from this month.
Master Mohan Lal, transport minister, stated this at a meeting with department officers here today. He added that the government had formulated a transport policy aimed at providing best public transport services at affordable rates.
The minister added that to provide comfortable, hassle-free services, the SAD-BJP government in one year had added 258 more new buses to the Punjab Roadways and the PRTC.
Master Mohan Lal directed officers to draft the rules regarding insurance of Roadways and PRTC buses at the earliest. For this a committee has been constituted to place a report within week.
