Prof Najmul Hasan Memorial lecture held

ALIGARH: The Department of Business Administration, Aligarh Muslim University organized the 4th Prof Najmul Hasan Memorial Extension Lecture on the theme of “Entrepreneurship”. The Lecture was delivered by Mr. Amjad Ali, Managing Director, Sohrab Group of Industries, a leading polyester and nylon tyre cord, hosiery yarn, solid wood furniture and hospital furniture manufacturers in the country.

Mr. Amjad Ali, an alumnus of the department and a student of Prof Najmul Hasan, in his lecture, recalled the contribution of Professor Najmul Hasan in shaping his career. He underlined that, with determination, accompanied by honesty, sincerity, hard work and adherence to moral values, nothing is beyond reach. Mr Ali also shared several interesting and inspiring anecdotes from his entrepreneurial life which was followed by an interactive session. The lecture as well as the interactive session proved to be highly rewarding and enriching experience for the audience.

Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Zameer Uddin Shah, AMU Vice Chancellor, while presiding over the function, offered several useful tips to students for their career and said that they could progress in their careers by harnessing IT and implementing it in every aspect of their professional life.

Earlier, Prof M. Israrul Haque, Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and Research, AMU welcomed the guests and shed light on the contributions of Prof. Hasan in steering the department in the right direction in its formative years.

Prof. Valeed Ahmad Ansari, Chairman, Department of Business Administration proposed the vote of thanks. In his concluding remark, he said that the lecture taught us not to view constraint of resources in life as limitation rather as an opportunity.

While introducing the speaker, Professor Parvaiz Talib said that the life journey of Mr. Amjad Ali is an inspiring one. He highlighted his achievements in the corporate world and contributions to the society.
