The company has grand plans for India and its first handset Panasonic P51 comes with 8MP camera, Andrid 4.2 Jelly Bean and other good specs
Panasonic has grand plans for India. It is launching a number of smartphones in the country over the next couple of months and has indicated its desire to get as much as eight percent of the market share of smartphone market in India.
The long time analysts will laugh at Panasonic for announcing such grand plans before even taking baby steps in a market that has become very competitive over the last few years. The market has seen explosive growth and there are as many as eight very serious players in the Indian market who have dedicated fan base and making a space for itself in the market should be the first priority for the Japanese company that hasn’t carved out a name for itself in the smartphone market as yet.
To be true, it has no presence in most market and its handsets are sort of unknown names so far.
But now it has become aggressive in the market by launching some good mid-range handsets and it will take time for it to gain people’s confidence. The company has just introduced a rather good handset in the market P51. The handset has some good pluses and may be able to get people’s attention if marketed properly.
The Panasonic P51 comes with a powerful Mediatek quad core processor with 1GB of RAM and 4GB internal storage that can be expanded to 32GB by using microSD card. But its best part is its latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. This is going to excite people as not many mid-range handsets come with latest Android version.
The handset is also very light at 135 grams and comes with rather good display quality. The Panasonic P51 comes with 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It also has good rear camera of 8 mega pixel and 1.3MP front.
