OnePlus announces open sales for OnePlus One: Why
Will Oppo be able to compete with the likes of Xiaomi, Lenovo, Micromax or for that matter Motorola? The company that has not been in the entry level business is trying to attract the biggest market segment in the Indian smartphone market.
The company has just come out with a very affordable handset Oppo Joy Plus, that the company plans to sell for Rs 6,990. The handset from one of the best Chinese smartphone companies will be available across the country pretty soon.
The handset comes with rather decent looking specifications and features. Oppo Joy Plus comes with 4-inch WVGA (480x800p) display, 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6572 dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal storage that can be expanded upto 32GB with a microSD card.
But it camera may not be liked by smartphone mavens here who get 8 MP camera in the same price. The handset comes with 3MP rear camera (with Sony 2nd Generation stacked CMOS camera sensor) and a 0.3MP (VGA) front-facing camera. It has a 1,700mAh battery just like its predecessor. The handset comes with ColorOS 2.0 based on Android 4.4 KitKat.
It is needless to say that the company bosses are excited about it. Tom Lu, CEO, Oppo Mobile India says, “Our aim at Oppo India is to provide our customers with ground-breaking technology at affordable prices. The Smartphone market in India is constantly evolving and we intend to reach across sections through our budget Smartphone, Joy Plus. We are looking at aggressive market penetration this year and we are confident that Joy Plus, packed with latest features will provide our customers more personal and reliable mobile experience.â€
