Nahan (Himachal): Â Himachal Congress has pleaded the cultivation of opium in the transs giri area of the district, demanded a judicial enquiry in the Paonta Sahib incidence and also announced to roll back the anti people decisions being taken by the present BJP government. Replying to a query congress state Chief Kaul Singh Thakur told media persons that Congress was never against the cultivation of opium in the transs giri area of the Sirmaur district as it was a the major income source of the people. In another query congress chief said that BJP MP Virender Kashyap was just pleading the cultivation of opium in media and was not doing anything concrete on the issue. It is learnt that MP Virender Kashyap had started the pleading of opium cultivation around one year back which had started the debate among the common people. Congress Chief said that congress wanted the restoration of opium cultivation in the transs giri area of the district but central government is facing the international pressure on narcotic issues. He alleged that there was a lapse of the local administration and government in handling the situation during the clash between two communities in which three persons were murdered. He alleged that CPS Sukh Ram Chaudhary acted for his political mileage in this incidence and added that how the bodies were taken out from mortuary. He said that congress had demanded a judicial enquiry into the matter by a sitting judge of the state High court but government overlooked this justified demand. Congress chief said that BJP government has opened 18 private universities in the state which is not viable for this small state. He said that if needed that congress would review the decision of this government for opening large number of universities and law would be amended. He also said that anti people decision of BJP would be rolled back after returning the congress into the power. On the occasion former speaker Gangu Ram mussafir, District congress Chief Harsh Vardhan, MLA Dr Prem Singh, CWC member Dhani ram Shandilya, Former MLA Kanwar Ajay Bhadur Singh and Member of state congress committee Ajay Solanki were also present. Earlier congress chief also addressed a mammoth gathering of party worker at SFDA hall.
