New post holders elected for AMU Officer’s Assoc

New post holders elected for AMU Officer’s Assoc

Aligarh: Mr Syed Sultan Salahuddin, Deputy Finance Officer (Cash) and Mr Faisal Nafees, Principal STS High School were elected as the President and Vice-President respectively of the Aligarh Muslim University Officer’s Association after a General Body Meeting.

Meanwhile, Mr Shahzad Husain, Assistant Controller, RP Unit has been appointed as the General Secretary; Mr S M Rizwanur Rahman, Deputy Controller (Exams) has been appointed as the Joint Secretary- I; Mr Mohd Yusuf, Deputy Librarian has been appointed as the Joint Secretary- II and Mr Mushahid Husain, Assistant Finance Officer (Audit) has been appointed as the Treasurer.

Mr Taufiq Ahmad, Dr T S Asghar, Dr Ashfaque Ahmad, Dr Najumul Huda Khan, Mr Rajeev Kumar Sharma, Mr Asif Fareed Siddiqui and Mr Seraj ahmad Qadri were elected as the Executive Members in the meeting which was attended by 31 AMU officers.

Mr S M Suroor Athar, Convener of the meeting confirmed: “The formation of the new association resolved that those members, who have left the association, will be given a last chance to rejoin the association by submitting a written application to the General Body of the Association.”

He added that it was further resolved that the Officer’s Association may play a more pro active role along with other associations as well as the University Administration in the matter regarding the minority character of AMU presently subjudice in the Supreme Court.
