Netanyahu will prevent establishment of Palestinian state — Erekat
RAMALLAH: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state and intensify settlement in Jerusalem, Saeb Erekat, a member of the Palestine Liberation Organization Executive Committee, said in a statement Saturday.
The Israeli elections in which Likud Party won aptly justifies the Palestinian strategy of joining international treaties, charters and conventions, including the International Criminal Court (ICC), Erekat added.
The Palestine Central Council (PCC) has recently taken several resolutions, mainly stopping security coordination with the Israeli Occupation Forces.
Erekat urged the international community, the United States, and the European Union (EU) to recognize immediately a Palestinian state for the sake of the two-state solution and help Palestine join these international treaties, charters and conventions.
