NBA trade rumors: Miami Heat’s Hassan Whiteside not going anywhere

Hassan Whiteside is among the most important players in the Miami Heat who is facing the prospects of being traded. Now there are reports suggesting that rumors doing the rounds for days were not without basis and that he may be following Mario Chalmers, though not to Memphis Grizzlies but to some other team.

There was another name earlier that rumors made us believe may be moving to some other team. Nonetheless there is not much movement regarding Chris Andersen till now.

The 37-year old Anderson is still with the Miami Heat and what is his or his team’s plan about his future is not known till now.

Miami-HeatWhiteside joined Miami Heat almost a year ago on November 24, 2014. Nonetheless in this season he has performed superbly. On November 1, 2015, Whiteside scored a career-high 25 points in a 109–89 win over the Houston Rockets. Merely two weeks later on November 17, he recorded his second career triple-double with 22 points, 14 rebounds and 10 blocks in a loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. He became the seventh player in NBA history with multiple points-rebounds-blocks triple-doubles. If that was not enough Whiteside while playing against the New York Knicks blocked five shots, giving him 63 through 13 games on November 23.

There is no denying the fact that Whiteside’s entry facilitated to keep the NBA championship hope alive. However, the rumor mill is churning out a different tune. The Miami Heat president denied the speculations on Whiteside’s possible exit from the NBA team. Sharing that the said star has been an appreciated member of the Miami Heat roster, Pat Riley denied the speculations of trade.

There is no denying the fact that he is among the top performers in the side. Riley also applauded the Miami Heat squad, sharing that the NBA team has a “great depth.”

While talking about the development Riley said, “I think we have a three-tiered team which is we have a group of great veterans, mid-aged veterans, and then we have youth. We have a lot of spirit. There’s a lot of energy with our young guys. Probably some of our best defenders are our young players. They’re trying to get their offensive games to match their defensive games.”
