NBA trade rumors: Phoenix Sun, Pelicans discuss Ryan Anderson, Markieff Morris
There is no denying the fact that the Phoenix Suns and the Pelicans are unable to perform up to the potential. There are reasons to believe that the two have got at least one player on the roster who is believed to be a sure trade candidate.
Markieff Morris hasn’t been able to help his side perform well in the season thus far. The 6 feet, ten inch high Markieff Morris has been relegated to DNP-CD status as of late, he didn’t like how his brother was traded this summer. Reports appeared in the media that how the 26-year old Morris despite being nothing but the consummate professional openly disgruntled about his brother being traded this summer.
He seems to be under a lot of stress recently. On September 8, 2015, Morris was fined $10,000 for conduct detrimental to the league by publicly demanding a trade a month earlier. Morris later trained with long-time friend Rasheed Wallace prior to re-joining the Suns for training camp. On November 23, he scored a season-high 28 points in a loss to the San Antonio Spurs.
On the other hand reports suggest that though in New Orleans, Ryan Anderson has provided consistent scoring off the bench as usual, but the problem for the Pelicans is that he’ll be an unrestricted free agent this summer. There is no certainty that despite his talent the team will be very eager to retain him. Obviously it is due to the high premium he commands rather than his performance.
Now there are reports that the two teams might be in talk for trade options. A report suggests that Ryan Anderson actually remains a viable trade piece for the Pelicans.
A report while talking about the development has this to say, “The Suns will almost certainly trade Morris, but they too might not be interested in shelling out big bucks for Anderson at the conclusion of the upcoming season. Phoenix will likely try to get more of a long-term piece in exchange for Morris, but the potential deal for Anderson will remain something to watchâ€.
