Reports suggest that the Los Angeles Lakers are actually looking to add more youth in the team and they will try to add to their assets for future trades or drafts at the trade deadline. That means trading role players away to contending teams that could use the depth. One of those players that could be dealt is center Roy Hibbert.
Though to many the rumors come as surprise, nonetheless it must be noted that Hibbert was always going to be a trade asset for Lakers as he still has value to this league that isn’t realized in Los Angeles. Not only could he serve as a rotational rim-protector in the right situation, but he is also an expiring contract which has increasing value given the salary cap jump coming this offseason.
