NBA trade rumors 2016: New York Knicks looking towards getting Ty Lawson of Houston Rockets
If reports are to be believed Ty Lawson is all set to move to New York Knicks. It is still going to take time to be confirmed as neither the player nor the team were ready to confirm the reports.
Right now Ty Lawson plays for Houston Rockets and his performance last year was good, though he got suspended from NBA after being found guilty of drunk driving.
There is no denying the fact that New York Knicks has been a disappointment of sorts as they haven’t been able to perform up to their potential.
A report in a leading sports media platform said that the Knicks still need to recruit a new player to improve their backcourt. They have young players like Langston Galloway and Jerian Grant, but they need some experience players and Jose Calderon is not a perfect foil.
Now while talking about the rumors doing the rounds Fansided writer Tom West, “This suggestion comes with a big question mark, simply because of the multiple off-court issues Ty Lawson has dealt with over the last yearâ€. Lawson has non-guaranteed contract for next season, which means the risk for the Knicks is quite low. Yibada pointed out Lawson may go to Knicks because he and Carmelo Anthony are former teammates. They mention that “a change of scenery could help Lawson, especially if Carmelo Anthony supports him.”
