NBA Trade Rumors latest news & update: Chicago Bulls to trade Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson, Pau Gasol
If rumors are to be believed, Chicago Bulls are reportedly trying to get rid of Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson, Pau Gasol. There is no denying the fact that the NBA trade rumors will continue till the final day of trade on February 19.
Nonetheless what is surprising is the fact that the teams are still not very open about their plans. They are trying to attract fresh talents and are trying to get rid of those who are a burden on the team or who have not been performing well.
When it comes to trade rumors, Chicago Bulls are not an exception. Almost every team has a few picks to chose from to improve its chances in the days to come. There are reasons to believe that in the hope of overthrowing reigning Eastern Conference champions Cleveland Cavaliers this season, the Chicago Bulls will likely make changes before the annual trade deadline next month.
A report by Bleacher Report’s Rich Bucher says that the Bulls are still trading big men Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson and Pau Gasol. Noah, Gibson and Gasol have played important roles for the Bulls last season, but the recent coaching changes — from Tom Thibodeau to Fred Hoiberg — stirred Chicago in a new direction. According to the report all three are replaceable because Hoiberg is determined to acquire pieces who will fit in his system.
It must be kept in mind that the Bulls actually have high hopes from rookie Bobby Portis, who is slowly getting increased playing time. Noah, who has spent his entire career in Chicago, was assigned a bench role this season after starting in majority of their games since his rookie year. Though he has been mentioned in numerous trade rumors and also accepted that he is not comfortable with his current role, Noah asserted that he is still committed to Chicago.
Analysts are of the few that Chicago Bulls will actually have to struggle real hard finding a buyer for Noah because he will become an unrestricted free agent this summer. Gasol will also probably spend the entire season in Chicago because he could also become a free agent in the offseason. According to Hoops Rumors, Gibson holds the maximum value among the three big men. The report pointed out that the Bulls will have to give away the 30-year-old power forward if they want to attain a high-quality wing man before the deadline on Feb. 18.
