NBA trade Rumors: Lakers may go for DeRozan or Clarkson on Kobe Bryant’s place
Kobe Bryant has announced his retirement and since then there has been a sort of buzz as to who is going to replace him in the Los Angeles Lakers. And now there are clear indications as to what the Lakersâ€™ management has in mind.
There is no denying the fact that finding a Kobe Bryant replacement is going to be a herculean task. He being Kobe Bryant towered over the rest of the team and players from other teams as well. Now with his announcement of retirement, his team is literally forced to go for a replacement for this marquee player.
In the meantime there are reasons to believe that one of the players being seen with immense potential is DeMar DeRozan. There are already reports doing the rounds that DeRozan could be traded to the Lakers to replace Bryant. In order to complete the trade, Jordan Clarkson would have to be the other trade piece of the speculated transaction.
It is being rumored that as the Lakers signed D’Angelo Russell to be their point guard of the future, and they would rather prefer DeRozan over Clarkson to be the Kobe heir. This trade proposal is predicated on the premise that Toronto Raptors are pursuing Kevin Durant and the Lakers don’t see themselves as a realistic candidate, hence drafting DeRozan.
