NBA trade Rumors 2015: Sacramento Kings’ DeMarcus Cousins has his future very safe in the side
DeMarcus Cousins is expected to stay with Sacramento Kings. He is not likely to be traded as rumors had made out to be. On the contrary, there are reasons to believe Sacramento Kings may be trying to get rid of its head coach George Karl.
Even there is no clarification and no official response has come on the issue. Nonetheless there are reasons to believe that there is one contender who is eyeing George Karl’s job at Sacramento Kings.
There are reports doing the rounds that recently-unseated Houston Rockets head coach Kevin McHale is hoping to replace him for the top job in the Kings.
There is no denying the fact that the whole scenario is because of the fact that the team hasn’t been able to come out with good performance. The Sacramento Kings, to be true, launched their 2015-2016 NBA season terribly, joining other struggling teams at the bottom of the league standings with a 4-9 slate. Nonetheless the team’s worry is not limited to just the poor run that it is finding itself at the moment. They seem to be very worried at the way Karl and Cousins started fighting due to poor run.
If Kings actually sack the head coach, it will not bother many. It has been a trend around the NBA league firing coaches after poor starts into the regular season. If the Kings follow this kind of trend, McHale could be the appropriate candidate to replace Karl. The Houston Rockets sacked McHale after a 4-7 start into the season, but according to Dan Feldman of NBC Sports, it was largely because of James Harden’s inconsistency and struggles.
