NBA Trade Rumors latest update: Golden State Warriors may sign Kevin Durant, do they have money?

NBA trade deadline is three weeks away and there doesn’t seem to be any end to speculations and rumors about it. Latest rumors suggest that NBA heavyweight Kevin Durant is headed to Golden State Warriors. If the rumors are true, this is going to be among the biggest trade news of the season thus far.

While this may look like a loss of sorts for Kevin Durant’s present team Oklahoma City Thunder, this may also give the team an opportunity to try young talent.

Rumors suggest that Oklahoma City Thunder small forward Kevin Durant is speculated to be headed for the 2015 NBA Champions Golden State Warriors. Though, till now not a single word has been spoken in this regard by the three parties rumored to be involved in it, the rumors are not actually baseless.

Kevin DurantA report by well-known NBC Sports writer Dan Feldman says that Durant is likely headed for the Oakland-based team. The report adds, however, that it would take a lot of work before the mere possibility of signing Durant could be entertained, as it all depends on the space left on the team’s $90 million salary cap. Durant’s salary is reported to be around $30 million already.

The report goes on to add, “The Warriors could also try swapping Barnes for Durant in a dual sign-and-trade. That’d trigger a hard cap, but that’s the least of the complications. Durant, Barnes and the Thunder would all have to agree”. It is needless to say that Durant is an NBA heavyweight averaging 26.6 points, 7.4 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game.
