NBA trade rumors 2016: Where New York Knicks’ Carmelo Anthony is going
Los Angeles: It is merely two weeks for trade deadline and the world seems to be going crazy. Rumors about all sorts of players are doing the rounds. The one player whose name seems to be appearing again and again is Carmelo Anthony.
Though no one has said a word about him moving out of New York Knicks, rumors seem to be unstoppable. It is needless to say that Anthony is great performer and one of the best players in the New York Knicks’ roster. Nonetheless reports about him moving out seem to be everywhere.
A report carried by the ESPN threw some light on what options the Knicks have before the NBA trade deadline. The report also highlighted the performance of the Knicks in the absence of Anthony.
One thing that may go against him is the fact that he seems to be injury prone. It must be recalled that Anthony missed several games due to injury before returning to play against the Phoenix Suns on Friday, January 29. He played an important role in leading the team to a 102-84 victory. In that game, Anthony finished with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists. Knicks coach Derek Fisher talked about his impact on the game following the win.
The report said, “He didn’t try to take over the game. He has been playing that type of basketball for several weeks now. When he’s sharing the ball and making everyone else better, we’re a much better basketball team.” Anthony trade rumors are once again doing the rounds as the Knicks are just 23-26 on the season and are at ninth place in the updated NBA standings for the East. Addressing the Carmelo Anthony trade rumors, ESPN NBA writer Ian Begley states that, “Carmelo Anthony is too valuable to trade.” Things are still very confusing and will clear only on 19th February.
