Houston Rockets want Dwight Howard as NBA trade deadline 2016 nears
Los Angeles: The NBA trade deadline is fast approaching now. Merely six days are left and the interest and excitement in the NBA trade never looked so intense and exciting.
All the teams need to decide on trade well before the deadline expiry that is fixed for 3p.m. (EST) on 18th February. There are reasons to believe that many top of the line players’ future is at stake.
There are some players that every team seems to be interested in. One such player who is in the highest demand right now is none other than Blake Griffin. Given an option, every team would like to have him with them.
Another player who is also in great demand is Dwight Howard. There are reasons to believe that a Dwight Howard agreement about to go down? If the Rockets can do things according to their way, the franchise center could be on the move before NBA trade deadline. As the team drops down the Western Conference standings, change seems essential. Trading Howard might be the first big domino to fall for a team that was in the Western Conference Finals just last year. Part of the reason for the sudden insistence is that Howard is likely to use his opt-out clause and become a free agent this summer.
A report in the Sporting News claims that ‘Just about every team in the league’ is planning to induct him. If the Clippers truly want to trade the 26-year-old star power forward, suitors are lining up. As per a report from, “A source with knowledge of the situation said that “just about every team in the league” has contacted the Clippers about Griffin, who drew the ire of the team and the league when he was involved in a public altercation with the team’s equipment manager at a Toronto restaurant last month. But the Clippers, predictably, have not come close to trading Griffin, and are not expected to reconsider that anytime soon.”
