NBA trade rumors and latest update: Miami Heat’s Hassan Whiteside not moving out

Miami Heat officials have completely refused to accept rumors that Hassan Whiteside is planning to leave the team. This is surprising considering the fact that for the last more than a fortnight rumors about Hassan Whiteside moving out of the Heat have been spreading thick and fast.

He is not alone. Almost every other day rumors about one player or the other seem to be appearing in the media. With the final date still a long way ahead –February 19 – we have ample time for a lot more rumor mongering in this regard.

There are not just individual players, several teams seem to be sitting duck for the trade. Sacramento Kings is one such team whose several players may leave the team en-block.

As far as Hassan Whiteside’s trade rumors are concerned, Miami Heat officials are not unduly concerned. Miami Heat President Pat Riley has said that there was no chance that Hassan Whiteside was going to either Sacramento or Houston. This should cap such rumors that have been circulating for the last several weeks.

While talking about the trade chances, Riley trashed newspaper columns discussing Hassan Whiteside’s move out of the team. He said that no such discussions had been held over the rumors that came out in the newspapers previously. He declared that he did not have any plans for trading Hassan Whiteside. Riley added that he is happy with his team’s performance and he wants to see how they are progressing with the current players. According to Riley, the Heat has great depth.

He said that he has a solid team with very good combination and added that he was lucky to have a 3-tiered team with a set of great veterans, veterans who are mid-aged and the young blood. The team does not lack team spirit and the young players are quite energetic, Riley added. Riley noted that the youngsters are also perhaps the finest defenders of the team. The president also loves the way team captains like Udonis Haslem, Chris Bosh, and Dwyane Wade has brought an element of leadership to the team.
